Bà Lê Ngọc Anh, chủ thương hiệu nước mắm Lê Gia, một thành viên của nhóm vận động xin thành lập hiệp hội, chia sẻ với báo Người Lao Động Online vào ngày 4-9, Bộ Nội vụ đã ra quyết định cho phép thành lập Hiệp hội Nước mắm truyền thống Việt Nam vào ngày 3 tháng 9.
Le Ngoc Anh, the owner of the Le Gia fish sauce brand, a member of the advocacy group seeking the establishment of the association, told Nguoi Lao Dong Online September 4, that the Ministry of Home Affairs had issued the decision allowing the setting up of the Vietnam Traditional Fish Sauce Association on September 3.

Theo quyết định, Hiệp hội là một tổ chức ngành, hoạt động theo điều lệ và quy chế do Bộ trưởng Bộ Nội vụ thông qua.

Việc ban hành quyết định thành lập Hiệp hội Nước mắm truyền thống một cách độc lập sau khi kế hoạch hợp nhất hai hiệp hội không thành.
